Ryan still doesn't know what Christmas is all about, but he knows that he's getting a present that day :)

Yup, we are having trouble trying to get Ryan to eat fruits. He likes the fruit tastes like strawberry and orange, but he'll only take them in other form of food like ice cream, jelly, or candy.
Oh well, we'll keep trying. Hopefully he'll be able to take them soon :)

Last week Ryan had a school performance for the graduating kids of his school. He and his friends performed a little dancing and fashion show. As expected, he was the messiest performer among the group, but he didn't cry like last year, and that's enough to make me one proud father :D

I think Ryan already hits the age where he can no longer smile freely in front of the camera. I feel this during the past few photo sessions with him. His mom agrees with me too :)
Oh well, I guess we'll see about that. But one thing is for sure, he's now a BIG BOY :)

Oh no, Ryan's feet grow so fast that the Crocs we bought 4 months ago are already tight now. We had no choice but to get him a new pair.

Turns out they were having a sale, get another pair and the second pair gets 50% discount, so I also bought a pair :P These are my first Crocs :D

Last Monday we held a little birthday party for Ryan's 4th birthday. It was short but lively. The kids loved the chocolate cake :)

We decided to get another cake to take some photos ourselves at home, since his real birthday cake would be taken to school last monday :)

Today Ryan turns four! I can't help but reminisce the happiest 4 years of my life ever since he came into our lives :)
Tomorrow we're going to celebrate his birthday at school. More photos to come ;)

We saw this VTech laptop on sale last month and Ryan wanted it, so we bough it for him. It has those spelling and writing games inside, among other things. It's quite good.
Ever since we bought it, Ryan has been playing with it at least once a day :)

Ryan is born in the year of Rooster (2005). We bought him this rooster pendant last year on our trip to Hong Kong last year. He wore it while we were there, and the string broke on the last day of our trip. It's been kept in the drawer all this time. Last Sunday I remembered about it and managed to fix the string :)

We bought Ryan this drum set a few months ago. He was so happy because he had been wanting for one since he was just over 2 years old :)
But like all his toys (with the exceptions of his toy cars), he only played it for a short while before he got bored with it, which is probably a good thing, since it's sooo noisy when he plays it :)

Though they are not the best pieces of art in the world, I really love Ryan's artworks. Here are his latest two :)

Ryan has sweet tooth just like me. Seems like almost all the snacks he likes are sweet snacks: chocolate, Oreo, Pocky, M&M, those egg-shaped Kinder Buenos, and ice cream.
We must not forget to brush his teeth everyday, else he'll have bad teeth like me :)

We are living in an apartment, so having a pet is out of question. This toy puppy may be the closest thing to a pet Ryan will ever have :)

Ryan has always been a rather skinny boy, especially by Indonesian standard where kids have be plump to be called "normal" and fat to be called "healthy". I'd say Ryan is OK, but his mom insists he's a bit underweight. That's why she's been putting Ryan on her "chubby-up" program which lately showed some results. I can tell he's chubbier and heavier. I think he should be around 17 kg now. I can't carry him more than 5 minutes :)
On another note, I know I've said this a lot, but boy, he sure grows up fast. I can't believe he's so big now. No, scratch that, I REFUSE to accept he's so big now :). But just like a friend reminds me today, children are not our belongings but rather only entrusted to us by God. Soon they'll grow their own wings and fly away :)

We saw these cheap cool looking sunglasses last week when we went to a mall. It cost $6.90, we just had to get it :)
That expression is priceless :)

Ryan's Art Class is over. On the last day, the teachers let the kids bring home their works during the 2-week sessions.
This one is his favorite :)

Hehehe... sorry there's no real story for this post. It's just me having bought a new softbox and test shooting it on Ryan behind our curtain :)

It's school holiday now. Ryan has no school for a month, so his mom signed him up for an art class, Monday to Friday, 3 hours a day, for 2 weeks.
According to her, he likes the class a lot. We reckon it's because it's all play and no studying at all :)

It's been a while since we took family photos :)

Managed to take Ryan's photos too. Look at his style! :D

The other day we bought Ryan a toy electric guitar. You know what I had to do :D

One of the ritual Ryan does at school is singing a goodbye song at the end of the day. I don't know the song, except heard it from my wife, but it goes something like "... see you tomorrow with a happy smiley face." The kids sing that part of the song while putting their index fingers on their cheeks and swing their head to the left and right.
I know I'm biased but he's soooo cute when he does that :D

I love Scrubs. It's a very funny comedy series. That's why I feel so sad that the show is cancelled after running for 8 seasons.
On it's last episode (My Long Goodbye), they play this very nice song titled "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. That's when I had the idea to make this short slideshow of Ryan's photos since he was less than 1 month old till now. I feel all nostalgic when I watch this slideshow. I hope you'll like it too :)

Last year we bought Ryan a pair of Crocs shoes. They were quite expensive, but surprisingly good. They are very comfortable to wear. The problem with the ones Ryan has is they use velcro straps, which make it harder for him to wear and take off without assistance. So to make it easier for him to wear to school everyday, we decided to get him a new pair without the velcro straps.
